Things Your Cat Wants to Ask You

January 15, 2016

Did you know that January 22 is Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day? This is one fun occasion we can really get behind! In honor of this feline-friendly holiday, in this article, a Leesburg, VA veterinarian lists some questions your furball may want to ask you.

Why Can’t I Play With That?

Kitties are naturally very playful, but they don’t always pick the safest playthings. Some kitties seem to go straight for the most dangerous objects! Fluffy may chew on a plastic wrapper, or try to eat a ribbon. The next time you take a potentially-dangerous object away from your frisky feline, tell her it’s for her own good!

Why Do You Make Me Go To The Vet?

Proper veterinary care is very important to your furball’s health and well-being. Fluffy, however, may not quite see it that way. Many kitties hate car rides, and can get very nervous during appointments. (We use gentle handling techniques to make things easier for your feline friend.) Even if your cat doesn’t exactly love visiting us, she’ll be much healthier, and therefore much happier, with regular veterinary care.

Why Won’t You Let Me-Owt?

Some kitties are quite content to stay inside, while others, especially those that have had outdoor access in the past, would very much prefer to be able to go outside. Unfortunately, outdoor cats are exposed to many dangers, such as cars, predators, parasites, weather, and other kitties. Even if Fluffy doesn’t understand this, she’s definitely much safer indoors!

Why Are You Still Asleep? It’s Breakfast Time!

Every morning, many cat owners are awakened by hungry furballs. How dare you sleep in? Fluffy wants her breakfast  Right Meow !

Why Do You Keep Moving Me?

Kitties definitely love to nap! You may very well find yourself moving your furball mid-snooze so you can stand up or get something she’s sprawled out on top of. Fluffy may protest with a sleepy meow.

These are just some of the questions your cat may have for you. Fluffy may also wonder where you go when you leave, why you petted that other kitty, what you do in the bathroom, or why you sometimes pluck her from counters or bookcases. Of course, you may have questions, too. We can help! If you have any questions about your cat’s health, care, or behavior, contact us, your Leesburg, VA animal hospital, anytime.
