Ways Dogs Make Things Better

Our canine buddies are one of life’s greatest gifts, as far as we are concerned. They’re always there for us, and want nothing more than to hang out with us and perhaps score some bacon and belly rubs. That’s a pretty fair trade, given all the ways that Fido makes our lives better. A Leesburg, VA vet lists some key ones below.

Comic Relief

One thing we can say for sure about Man’s Best Friend: he definitely does keep us laughing. Fido is absolutely hilarious when he’s acting playful or confused, or both. Laughter is good for the soul, and dogs provide plenty of it!

Endless Support

Fido didn’t earn the title of Man’s Best Friend for nothing. Your pet will be there for you through thick and thin, offering comfort and support. In fact, dogs often sense when their owners are feeling blue, and stick closely to them.

Health Benefits

Did you know that our canine pals are good for our health? People with dogs are usually less likely to be obese than those without pups. Fido also helps lower our blood pressure, and reduce our risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Tail Wags

Dogs have many adorable habits, but one of the cutest is the way Fido wags his tail when he’s happy. Your furry friend may get so excited that his hips shake. It’s almost impossible to see this without smiling.

Doggy Smiles

We know, technically dogs aren’t supposed to smile. However, google some photos of happy dogs, and you may question that. Fido is extra adorable when he’s in a good mood!

Happy Dances

When you have a dog, there will always be someone who is happy to see you when you get home. That joyful dance Fido does when you walk in the door is always a great welcome!

Although some dogs are more protective than others are, even small pooches will usually bark to let you know there’s someone at the door. Fido has also been known to protect his humans from robbers, wild animals, and other hazards. Dogs have also accompanied soldiers into war, and helped search and rescue teams, and served as companions, guides, and assistants. Some of our canine companions have even risked their lives for their owners!
