Meet the folks who make it all happen.

Elaine

Elaine

Hospital Manager

After spending 18 years at a veterinary clinic in Maryland, Elaine decided it was time for a new start. She joined Lansdowne Animal Hospital as a hospital manager, bringing with her a vast amount of experience, wisdom and a love for animals!

Born and raised in Montgomery county in Maryland, Elaine was able to forge a strong relationship with animals at a young age. The first pet she ever owned was a cat, while her first dog was a German Shepherd. While in high school, she got a job as a pet sitter for the dogs in her neighborhood. One dog in particular suffered from arthritis, and Elaine enjoyed tending to him. This experience would help pique her interest in veterinary medicine.

When she’s not busy at the animal hospital, Elaine is busy being a pet mom to three German Shepherds and a cat. She lives with her husband and their daughter. In her free time, you can catch her hiking and enjoying the outdoors with her family!

Susan

Susan

Licensed Veterinary Technician

A naturally empathetic person, Sue has always been drawn to animals. Even as a young child, she had a deep desire to understand their wants and needs and be able to comfort them and ease their fears. This passion, coupled with a fascination of science and medicine, made a career in the veterinary field a logical path to take. Having finally reached her goal of becoming a licensed veterinary technician, Sue is now able to live her lifelong dream of making a difference in the health and wellbeing of animals!

Sue’s journey was a long and twisted tale. While in her 20s, she fell in love with the idea of becoming an LVT, enrolled in some courses and landed a job at a local clinic. Then, life happened. She started a family and her career aspirations were put on hold for a bit, until she stumbled on a job opening at an equine medical center. There, she spent 16 years learning about medicine and horses. When her daughter graduated high school, Sue decided it was finally time to fulfill her dream. She enrolled in the technician program at NOVA, where she excelled in her studies and graduated Summa cum laude. It may have taken some time, but she feels she’s finally doing what she was meant to do.

Professionally, Sue has a passion for practicing Fear Free veterinary techniques, because it allows her to connect her empathetic side to her scientific side. There’s nothing quite like meeting a patient who is anxious and fearful, and helping them relax and understand that we are there to protect them and keep them safe during their visit. It is incredibly rewarding to win the trust of an animal.

Outside of the clinic, Sue is married and has two grown children who are now starting families of their own. When she met her husband, she had two horses, two dogs, two cats, and a bunch of guinea pigs. She’s cut down significantly since then, but is currently ‘mom’ to Brody, a Pitt bill mix, and a foster failure cat named Marigold, who is the super model of all kitties. A nature lover at heart, Sue loves hiking, biking and water sports. She can also often be found in her garden, tending to her vegetable and fruit plants.
